How to find your Google Maps link
On a phone
- Open the Google Maps app and search for your business.
- Open your listing, then press Share.
- Press Copy link, and paste it in the box above.
On a computer
- Search for your business on google.com/maps.
- Click your listing so it opens on the left.
- Copy the whole address from the browser’s address bar and paste it above.
If a short link from the Share button doesn’t work, the computer method always does. The long address has everything in it.
Why not just send your Maps listing?
A Maps listing makes the customer find the reviews tab, scroll down, and press “Write a review”. Each of those steps loses people. A review link skips all of it and opens the star box straight away, so all they have to do is tap a star.
Where to use your review link
- On WhatsApp after a sale or visit. A short “thanks for coming in” with the link gets far more reviews than asking in person and hoping they remember.
- On your counter, as a tap plate. Customers tap their phone where they wait or pay, and the star box opens.
- On bills, receipts and visiting cards.
- In your Instagram bio and your WhatsApp Business profile.
Is it allowed to ask for Google reviews?
Yes. Google encourages businesses to ask their customers for reviews. What its rules don’t allow is:
- offering a discount, freebie or anything else in return for a review
- asking only the customers you expect to be happy
- writing reviews yourself, or asking staff or family to
Breaking these rules can get reviews removed from your listing. Ask everybody, the same way, and the reviews you get will stay.
Does this cost anything?
No. The link is yours to keep and use anywhere. It points straight to Google, not through us, so it keeps working whether or not you ever talk to us. Nothing you paste here is saved.
What about a QR code?
A QR code asks every customer to open their camera, line it up and wait, and most don’t bother. A tap takes a second. How many will you need?
A rating is an average, so the reviews you already have hold it in place. That is why the climb from 4.1 to 4.5 is longer than it looks. Work out how many reviews stand between you and the rating you want, free.
